I'm still working on putting this page together. I'll add more questions soon.
Q: What books do you have in progress right now?
A: Well, I'm collaborating with several authors right now as an editor or contributor. As far as my solo work, Lost in the Pages is finally finished, so I'm working on a novel called Translation. Behind that, I've got two non-fiction books that pick up where Lost in the Pages leaves off. One is called A Country of their Own, which is a book about heaven, of all things.
Q: Heaven?
A: Yeah. It's the unanswered question that Lost in the Pages leaves hanging: what happens next in our stories?
Q: How do you do research for that?
A: The Bible gives us our only data points. After that we have to try to connect some dots and use some imagination. But I'm committed to not just making stuff up, or engaging in pure speculation.
Q: What's the second non-fiction book?
A: It's called The Church on the Edge of the World. It's sort of a 'Walk Thru History' approach to Church history as we begin its third millenia.
Q: What's the timing for release of those?
A: I'm not sure. I'm aiming for at least one of them to come out at the beginning of 2012. I developed the material for Lost in the Pages by teaching it live, at churches, conferences, retreats, classes, etc. I'm doing the same thing this year with the material for those two books, developing in front of a live audience, hearing their questions, watching their faces, getting an idea for what works and what doesn't.
Q: Any other fiction?
A: I'll never be truly happy until I can finish a few mystery-thrillers that I have started. One has been sitting there for two years, waiting to be completed. a murder-mystery set in Paris. We'll see. One thing at a time.
